Her mother is the actress Gretchen Corbett and her father is the actor Robin Gammell. Raised primarily by her mother in Los Angeles and Portland, Corbett attended the Catlin Gabel School through middle and high school, followed by 2 years at the acting conservatory at SUNY Purchase.
